This year is the fifth anniversary of the biennial Trowbridge Festival of Textile & Weaving at Trowbridge Museum. To celebrate its success the Museum is embarking on a special project, five Q’s: A Quintet of Quality, Quirky, & Quaint Quilts.

As the festival has grown from strength to strength it has been decided to bring together a community of textile crafts people to make five different quilts.

Each quilt will be made by a different group, using their own interpretation of what quilting means to them, with the aim of displaying them in five different venues.

The festival also includes exhibitions of contemporary textiles and weaving from Walwayne Court Primary School, Bath Spa Creative Arts Students, Wiltshire College, Cloth Road Artists, Westbury U3A Creative Textile Group, The Embroiderers’ Guild Frome and District Branch, spinning and weaving demonstration, ‘The Big Weave’ and a programme of FREE craft activities for both children and adults.

‘This year the festival offers a woven celebration of the hidden heritage and stories, displaced in textiles & woven cloth held at Trowbridge Museum. Come along and see how textiles & weaving is still a vibrant part of the town and its surrounding areas!’
